A page with a purpose
Choose your spacing to match the work. Smaller squares fit more detail on a page; larger squares leave more space for handwriting. The grid begins 12 mm from the top and left edges and extends through the printable area.
Try this on your next page
To sketch a simple room layout, decide what one square means before drawing. If one square represents half a metre, a four-metre wall spans eight squares. Write your chosen scale on the page so someone else can interpret it.
For measurement-sensitive work, print the PDF at 100% or Actual Size on matching paper. Measure several squares with a ruler before relying on the scale. Printer settings can resize an otherwise correctly sized file.

A few useful details
Are the squares an exact size?
The PDF uses the selected spacing in millimetres. Physical output depends on your printer and scale setting. At 5 mm spacing, ten squares should measure 50 mm when printed at actual size.
